What Is DAEP?
Since the adoption of the Texas Safe Schools Act in 1995, all Texas public school districts have been required to provide disciplinary alternative education programs (DAEPs). DAEPs serve as alternative education settings for students temporarily removed for disciplinary purposes from their regular instructional settings.

Can I appeal the administrator's decision to place my son/daughter at DAEP?
Yes, as per FOC(LOCAL) APPEALS:
The parent will have 15 business days from the day of the incident to appeal the placement using the complaint form found in FNG (LOCAL). Disciplinary consequences will not be deferred pending the outcome of an appeal.

How long will my son/daughter have to stay at DAEP?
Mandatory placements will be for a minimum of 18 school weeks.
The term may extend to the end of the next semester if the student is placed in a DAEP when there are fewer than 18 weeks in the current semester.
Discretionary placements will be for a maximum of nine weeks. -
Is there anything we can do to lessen the placement time?
Yes. If it is the student's 1st time at DAEP within the same school year.
Students serving either a mandatory or discretionary placement
are eligible for an early exit at the end of a grading period as per the director's discretion.The student must complete the following:
Meet 90% attendance rule;
Pass all classes; and
Be issued no discipline referrals while serving a DAEP placement. -
Is transportation offered by the Program?
No, transportation is not offered.

Are uniforms required?
Yes, uniforms are required.
Home campus should provide dress code for students during the Principal's Hearing.
Students are required to wear a uniform on the intake date.
